Terms of service

Effective October 23, 2026

The service

federal.contractors provides searches, verification records, entity monitoring, change notices, audit packets, and related API access using public federal data sources.

The service is software-delivered. Scheduled checks run automatically, without human review by federal.contractors. You remain responsible for reviewing results and deciding what to do.

A record documents what named sources reported at the stated timestamps. It is evidence of diligence, not a verdict about eligibility, responsibility, or compliance.

Issued records and audit packets are permanent and readable by anyone who has their link. Newly issued packets do not name the account; a packet issued under an earlier version keeps the account identity sealed into it at issuance, and closing the account does not remove or rewrite evidence already issued.

Accounts and authorized use

You are responsible for activity under your account and API keys. Keep access links and credentials secure, and notify us if you believe they have been compromised.

Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls or rate limits, submit unlawful material, or use the service to misrepresent government affiliation or endorsement.

Billing

Paid monitoring capacities, API-created record prices, billing intervals, and included limits are shown before checkout or on the invoice. Annual service is billed once per year. Monthly service is a separate month-to-month purchase billed each month. Card-billed service renews automatically for the selected interval until canceled through the billing portal. Invoice and purchase order terms appear on the issued invoice.

Canceling card billing stops future renewal. Access to paid service continues through the end of the paid billing period. Partial periods are not refunded. A first card-billed service charge is refundable on request to billing@federal.contractors within 14 days of that charge.

If a card payment fails, paid service continues while the payment is retried. If payment ultimately fails, or the subscription ends unpaid or canceled, paid service ends under the same paid-through rule.

When paid service ends, monitoring continues for up to three entities selected from the roster. If the roster is larger than three and no selection has been saved, monitoring pauses until you select up to three. A roster of three or fewer continues automatically. Reactivating paid service at a capacity that covers the retained roster resumes monitoring without backfilling the interruption. Public records created for other accounts do not establish your account's monitoring coverage.

Sealed verification records and packets already issued remain accessible after paid service ends. Monitoring evidence begins when monitoring starts. A purchase does not supply records from before monitoring began.

Source and availability limits

Public source data can be delayed, incomplete, corrected, or unavailable. Each result must be read with its source and as-of date. A free SAM.gov search remains sufficient for the check required by 2 CFR 180.300.

We may change, suspend, or limit the service to maintain security, legal compliance, source integrity, or reliable operation. We do not promise a specific audit, legal, award, or eligibility outcome.

Your responsibility

You decide which entities to check, how to review potential matches, and what action to take. The service does not provide legal advice and does not replace source review or professional judgment.

These terms may be updated as the service changes. Material updates will be identified by a new effective date on this page.
